When Love Befalls | Wedding of Mildred and Micheal

The warm sunshine was perfect for this wedding! Especially since such weather makes way for charming details - colourful parasols anyone? It was even more heartwarming to see so much love as guests arrived from Singapore and Switzerland to share the joy!

Mildred and Michael met in 2008 where they worked and it was only a year later when they went out for dinner date in an attempt to get to know each other better. Some time later Michael’s assistant had organised a tennis session with colleagues but here’s the catch - no one would turned up except for Mildred and Michael. Now there’s a scheme that worked out well!

Michael arranged a surprise para-gliding flight (something she always wanted to try) for both of them in the Swiss Alps. “What I didn’t know was the fact that the paragliding flight was actually not the biggest surprise that day.” Also unbeknownst to Mildred, Michael landed earlier in order to do some preparation for the proposal. “My instructor was well aware of what will happen after the landing and he tried to hint to me pointed to me that there’s a heart shape made out of red balloons on the ground during our flight. I did not take any special notice until I landed in the middle of this heart as planned by Michael. He finally walked up to me and asked me to marry him.”

Coming from different cultural backgrounds, the wedding planning brought them closer to together. It was important for them to understand each other and listen to opinions. Mildred and Michael share some useful pointers with us:

  • Be very transparent, honest and open-minded with each other.
  • Discuss about different views, expectations and things that important to both parties.
  • Distribute copies of the day’s schedule to each of their helpers. This will also help them in attending to little tasks during the wedding.

Time flew by and at the end of the day, they both agreed that the biggest day of their lives was definitely overwhelming, emotional and fun!
