The Lovers Outdoors | Wedding of Vivian and Howard

They’re no strangers to the outdoors. Horse backing riding, scuba diving and travelling across countries on a motorcycle... you name it, they’ve probably done it! Vivian and Howard adore nature to bits and travel extensively to experience different cultures and cuisines. This outdoorsy pair also share a passion for underwater photography and even featured this hobby on their weekend wedding in Bali. “Our table cards were of the different sea creatures we have captured on our cameras!” Vivian says. “We also did a post wedding underwater shoot that was really fun!”

We’re amazed at how their photographs brilliantly reveals the alternative side of Bali. Typical shots of Bali’s religious relics were replaced with facets of Bali’s rustic nature. “We did want something more out of the ordinary. We both love nature so we wanted that element in our photos,” the couple explains. “We also wanted more of a photojournalistic quality to our photographs, large landscape shots, and to explore different places that we’ve never been to in Bali.”

Skype sessions gave them the chance to communicate their preferences with Adam Finch, their photographer from Studio Impressions. They wanted to be photographed with majestic elements of Bali: it’s lush landscapes, lofty trees and even suggested scooting around the land on Vespas. Most essentially, they stayed open to the idea of exploring more of Bali. Vivian and Howard followed Adam’s lead, entrusted the shoot to him and their expectations were exceeded! “The photo shoot was great! We had such a wonderful time! It was a very eventful day full of exploration and fun, and it was a perfect thing to do right before the wedding weekend started. All the different locations gave us a sense of what Bali meant to us and we would do it again in a heartbeat!”

Oh and one more thing, Vivian and Howard wants you to know something really important about these overseas photo shoots - “Bring comfortable shoes that you can change into in between locations!”
