Avoid unibrows! Waxing excess hairs between the eyes takes longer for hair to re-grow while shaving only leaves stubbles and ingrown hair. Hairs that grow back are also much thinner, making future tidiness easier to handle. Be confident as having clean eyebrows will definitely have you looking more alert and fresh.

Skin can get irritated easily with constant exposure to sun or long hours of air conditioning. In this case, facial treatments are essential as they reduce irritation and soothe the skin. Arranging for a facial a week before the wedding can serve as a good way to remove any dead skin, dryness, impurities or oil build-up. And don’t forget to remove those blackheads too! With relaxing masks and a good clean scrub, you’ll be instantly refreshed with the chiselled allure of soft skin.

Another important step to a grooming regime is to shave the morning of the wedding, or at least give that goatee a trim. Start the day with these 3 simple steps to get a clean shave:

  • Apply a hot towel on the face to soften hairs
  • Layer on the shaving cream
  • Shave in the direction of the hair growth

If you’re using shaving gel, apply it on wet skin and let it soak in for a couple of minutes to straighten hair follicles. Subsequently, use a manual blade for that closer shave.

Smartly styled hair is an extension of a groom’s personal chic. If you have already been styling your hair regularly and know how your hair behaves, consider a trim just to sharpen your look.

Alternatively, if you haven’t got any particular style in mind, head to a salon and consult a hairdresser for a cut that suits your hair texture and facial features. Book an appointment a week before your wedding day to allow time for you to get comfortable with the new cut.

At least 2 weeks before the wedding, drop by the dentist and have your pearly whites thoroughly cleaned. To maintain that sparkling gleam, simple teeth whitening products are easily available at both the dentists’ and pharmacies. Floss regularly too and stay clear of food and beverages that will stain your teeth. Keep them in check as you minimise the intake of these items:

  • Coffee / Tea
  • Red wine
  • Dark soda
  • Berries
  • Soy sauce
  • Curry
  • Acidic foods
  • Tobacco

Before you know it, you’ll soon have that dashing smile prepared to dazzle guests and ready to jazz up your wedding photographs.

Having clean, manicured nails will look extremely pleasant in close-up photographs and will also enhance the look of your wedding ring. Believe it or not, all eyes will inevitably focus on the bride and groom’s hands on the big day. So go right ahead and have your nails buffed, filed and shaped, cuticles trimmed, and dry skin exfoliated.

Do tidy up your hands and nails with a manicure at least two days before the wedding. There’s no reason to feel uneasy because there’s certainly a growing popularity for guys to have their hands taken care of and their fingernails buffed to perfection.

Start getting trim and fit early with routine exercises and wholesome meals. This helps to keep the calories down and energy high to avoid looking lethargic amidst all the excitement during your wedding. Besides hitting the gym on a regular basis, a daily jog with buddies and simple healthy dinners would help too. The idea is to build up muscle tone, cultivate an alert mind and put on a healthy glow – you will definitely notice the difference immediately!

Be sensitive to your needs and start treating yourself to a session of self indulgence as you prepare for your wedding day. After all, a little effort goes a long way and your bride will definitely appreciate your efforts in feeling good and looking sophisticated.
