The Wedding Make Up

Good makeup artists are booked up very early, so start your search at least 6-8 months before the big day. Here are some pointers on how you can pick the right one!

  • Ask friends and your bridal designer for recommendations. Check out a friend’s wedding photos if possible and only get contacts if you like what you see.
  • Always ask about rates and do request to see their portfolio. Rates for a good makeup artist typically start from $250 - $400 and above per session. And yes, trial session is on most occasions not free.
  • Select one that you can communicate with and knows how to mask the flaws and highlight your best features.
  • Arrange a trial session with a one short-listed make-up artist first. If you like what he/she does for you, go ahead and make a confirmation. If not, arrange for the next favourite.
  • Ensure that his/her choice of colours flatter you. Most brides want to achieve is a healthy and natural glow.
  • Do inform the makeup artist if you have sensitive skin and let he/she know if you can only use a certain brand of make up products.

Remember, you aren’t going to a club or a theme party, there’s no need to go overboard with makeup. Just remember less is more.
