Before we go into the roaring twenties, let’s us share a little something about the stylish era with you.

The 1920s celebrated economic prosperity. It was an era of artistic, cultural and social dynamism. Jazz was all the rage, parties MUST have dancing and fashion blossomed with flapper dresses and classic bobbed hairstyles. What else could this mean for weddings of the new century? It means the ability to play up the brilliance of twenties trends with new world creativity!

Right so our focus is on, what we like to call, The Gatsby Bride. These trendy brides wore shorter wedding dresses with hemlines that either reached the knee, or below it. Skirts were full and bridal veils were the style of cloche hats with trails!

Now for a modern twist to the twenties. Let’s work these fashionable flapper weddings styles:

  • Gowns that don’t define the waist too much are perfect.
  • Opt for lace, sequins and pearls.
  • Don’t forget veils and quirky headwear.
  • Short hairstyles and chic up-dos are glamorous choices.
  • Style your hair with waves!
